AETC Leadership Pays Courtesy Visit to Czech Republic Embassy to Bolster Strategic Partnerships for AETC 2026
ACCRA, GHANA – In a significant step toward international cooperation for Africa’s energy future, a high-level delegation from the Africa Energy Technology Centre (AETC), led by Founder and President Emelia Cedar-Palm Akumah, paid a courtesy visit to the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Accra.
The delegation was warmly received by the Economic Advisor – Ms. Beata Matusiková at the Embassy. The meeting served as a strategic platform to align the Czech Republic’s technological expertise with the vision of AETC 2026, scheduled for May 19–21 in Accra.
Driving Technological Synergy
The discussions focused on the Czech Republic’s long-standing reputation for industrial innovation and how this can be leveraged to support Africa’s transition from a technology consumer to a creator. The Economic Advisor underscored the Czech Republic’s commitment to strengthening bilateral ties through trade, clean energy, and technical exchange.
Key areas of collaboration identified during the visit include:
- Energy Infrastructure & Grid Resilience: Exploring Czech engineering solutions for modernizing energy grids and implementing storage technologies essential for renewable energy integration.
- Local Content & Technology Transfer: Facilitating partnerships between Czech firms and African energy stakeholders to ensure authentic local participation in the global energy value chain.
- Green Industrialization: Utilizing Czech expertise in manufacturing and sustainable resource management to drive the “From Borders to Bridges” theme of the 2026 conference.
Empowering the Next Generation
A cornerstone of the deliberations was the shared commitment to Youth Empowerment. Both the AETC and the Czech Embassy emphasized that the energy transition cannot be successful without the active leadership of young innovators.
Ms. Akumah highlighted the Youth Energy Entrepreneurship & Incubation Program (YEEIP), noting that youth must be “baked into” the design of energy solutions as owners and entrepreneurs. The Economic Advisor expressed keen interest in exploring student and technical exchanges, aligning with Czechia’s broader focus on educational development and vocational training for young Africans.
Looking Ahead to AETC 2026
This visit marks a pivotal moment in the lead-up to the third edition of the Africa Energy Technology Conference. By fostering these diplomatic and economic bridges, the AETC continues to solidify Ghana’s position as a definitive gateway for energy technology transformation across the continent.
As preparations hit “top gear,” the inclusion of international partners like the Czech Republic ensures that AETC 2026 will provide the global stage necessary to showcase African brilliance and drive measurable industrial impact.
