ACCRA, GHANA — The Africa Energy Technology Centre (AETC) is proud to announce that Ashish Khanna, Director General of the International Solar Alliance (ISA), will participate as a distinguished speaker at the third edition of the Africa Energy Technology Conference, scheduled for May 19–21, 2026, at the Labadi Beach Hotel in Accra.
As a veteran of the World Bank with over 25 years of experience in energy diplomacy and strategic infrastructure, Mr. Khanna joins AETC 2026 at a pivotal moment. His participation underscores the conference’s 2026 mission: flipping the narrative from Africa as a consumer of energy technology to a global hub for innovation and technology creation.
Bridging the Solar Gap
Under Mr. Khanna’s leadership, the ISA has been instrumental in mobilizing the “Mission 300” initiative and striving to unlock $1 trillion in solar investments by 2030. His insights will be central to the conference’s high-level roundtables, specifically focusing on:
- Regional Energy Integration: How solar pathways can harmonize technical standards across African borders.
- Catalytic Finance: Scaling up private sector investment in sub-Saharan Africa’s green industrial value chain.
- Capacity Building: Aligning with AETC’s goal to empower youth and women as owners and leaders in the energy transition.
A Vision for Intra-African Trade
“We are honored to welcome Ashish Khanna to Accra,” says Emelia Akumah, Founder and President of the AETC. “His work at the intersection of policy and implementation perfectly mirrors our theme of moving ‘From Borders to Bridges.’ Having the International Solar Alliance at the table ensures that the solar revolution in Africa is built on authentic local content and sustainable infrastructure.”
Mr. Khanna will join an elite lineup of speakers, including heads of state, energy ministers, and global industry captains, to discuss the future of digital energy services, gas monetization, and the critical minerals fueling Africa’s industrialization.
