AETC Executive Update: Forging Strategic Transatlantic Partnerships for AETC 2026

Strengthening Ties with the U.S. Embassy in Ghana

It was a distinct pleasure for the Africa Energy Technology Centre (AETC) leadership team, led by Founder and President Ms. Emelia Cedar-Palm Akumah, to be received by the United States Embassy in Ghana. The delegation was welcomed on behalf of the Chargé d’Affaires by Mr. Raimonds Pavlovskis, Economic Counselor at the U.S. Embassy Accra. This engagement marked a significant step forward in our shared commitment to fostering energy innovation and unlocking global investment for the continent.

Our discussions were rooted in a mutual commitment to partnerships that respect local priorities while leveraging international expertise. Together, we have clarified a strategic engagement framework to ensure that our collaboration ahead of AETC 2026 is intentional, inclusive, and results-driven.

Building the Future: EVs, Renewables, and Strategic Roundtables.

A primary focus of our dialogue with the Foreign Commercial Service Division of the U.S. Embassy involved the rapid evolution of the green value chain. We are particularly excited to be co-designing discussions around:

  • EV Charging Infrastructure: Facilitating trade and commercial connections to establish robust charging networks in Ghana.
  • Renewable Energy Solutions: Exploring scalable deployment and capacity building to bridge the energy access gap.
  • High-Level Roundtables: We are preparing to welcome a high-profile U.S. delegation and key global institutions to our exclusive roundtables, designed to facilitate bilateral talks between commercial leaders and government officials.

The Platform for Bankable Deals
The Founder and President of AETC, emphasized during our meeting why this platform remains pivotal to the continent’s growth. In alignment with the direction of the Government of Ghana and the broader African energy mandate, AETC 2026 is, first and foremost, a deal-making platform.

“We are moving beyond conversation to focus on the creation of bankable projects. Our goal is to ensure that the partnerships formed during the conference lead to tangible infrastructure and investment long after the event concludes. By localizing new technologies and smart energy solutions, we are positioning Africa as a leader, not just a consumer, in the global energy transition.”

Looking Ahead to AETC 2026
Our ongoing discussions with the U.S. Embassy and other key international partners continue to explore innovative financing and the integration of “New-Tech” into the African energy landscape.

We look forward to welcoming these high-level delegations to Accra from 19–21 May 2026, where we will continue to turn strategic vision into actionable, bankable reality.
