A Strategic Partnership for Innovation and Infrastructure
The Africa Energy Technology Conference (AETC) team recently had the distinct pleasure of conducting a courtesy visit to the Turkish Ambassador to Ghana. This meeting served as a vital bridge-building exercise, aligning Turkish industrial excellence with the burgeoning opportunities within the African energy landscape.
Our discussions focused on the formidable role of Turkish expertise in energy infrastructure, engineering, and advanced technology solutions. As we look toward AETC 2026, we have identified five key pillars of synergy that will define this partnership:
Renewables, Oil, and Gas Technologies
We are exploring the integration of Turkish engineering prowess into both the green value chain and the modernization of oil and gas infrastructure. By leveraging Turkey’s experience in bridging energy markets, we aim to implement localized technological solutions that enhance efficiency and output across the continent.
Capacity Building and Skill Development
A core component of our collaboration involves structured knowledge exchange. We are designing frameworks for technical training and professional development, ensuring that African engineers and technicians have direct access to Turkish innovation and operational standards.
Projects and Investment Facilitation
AETC remains a deal-making platform. Our dialogue with the Turkish Embassy centered on identifying bankable energy projects that can benefit from Turkish investment and EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) expertise, moving projects from the planning stage to active commissioning.
Youth and Next-Gen Empowerment
In line with our commitment to the youth, we are discussing exchange programmes and incubation initiatives. Our goal is to empower the next generation of energy leaders by providing them with the tools to innovate within the “Smart Energy Technology Hub” we are building.
Strategic Infrastructure Synergies
Turkey’s unique position as a global energy hub offers invaluable insights for Africa. We are aligning our official capacities to support joint innovation, ensuring that AETC 2026 serves as the primary gateway for Turkish stakeholders to engage with African energy markets.
We look forward to welcoming these high-level delegations to Accra from 19–21 May 2026, where we will continue to turn strategic vision into actionable, bankable reality.
