ACCRA, GHANA – The Africa Energy Technology Centre (AETC) is proud to announce that H.E. Farid Ghezali, Secretary General of the African Petroleum Producers’ Organization (APPO), has officially confirmed his participation as a keynote speaker and distinguished guest for the 2026 Africa Energy Technology Conference.
The landmark event is scheduled to take place from 19–21 May 2026 at the prestigious Labadi Beach Hotel in Accra, Ghana.
The confirmation of H.E. Ghezali marks a significant milestone in the enduring partnership between the two organizations. APPO has served as a steadfast institutional partner to the AETC for the past two consecutive conferences, providing a high-level strategic foundation for the event’s success. This continued collaboration underscores a shared commitment to advancing homegrown energy technology, fostering regional local content, and driving sustainable exploration and production across the continent.
As the head of Africa’s foremost intergovernmental energy organization — representing 18 oil-producing nations — H.E. Ghezali brings decades of strategic leadership in petroleum policy and energy security. At AETC 2026, he will deliver a high-level address centered on how APPO member countries can leverage digital transformation, carbon management strategies, and indigenous innovation to maximize value from Africa’s hydrocarbon resources while navigating a just energy transition.
The AETC 2026, themed “From Borders to Bridges: Driving Intra-African Trade and Development through Energy and Technology Services,” serves as the continent’s premier platform for bridging the gap between policy and implementation. The three-day program will feature:
- High-Level Technical Panels: Focusing on AI-driven exploration and low-carbon upstream solutions.
- Investment Deal Rooms: Connecting institutional capital with sustainable energy projects.
- Strategic Exhibition Showcases: Highlighting the latest in African-led technological innovation.
“We are honoured to welcome H.E. Farid Ghezali back to the AETC stage,” said Ms. Emelia Akumah, Founder and President of the AETC. “
The institutional support of APPO over the last three years has been instrumental in elevating this conference to a global standard. Together, we are moving beyond borders to build the technical and economic bridges necessary for Africa’s energy independence.”
