The Africa Energy Technology Centre is a company limited by guarantee: an independent, not-for-distribution institution established to serve the public interest in Africa's energy transition.
A Structure That Follows the Mission
The Centre has no shareholders seeking dividends. Any surplus is reinvested in its mission. An executive team is responsible for delivery, guided by an advisory board drawn from government, industry, academia and finance.
Governance for What Comes Next
As the national initiatives mature, and ASETIH in particular, the Centre is developing governance structures to match their scale and permanence, including independent boards and multilateral participation. These are the structures being built, not structures already operating.
Transparency and Accountability
We hold ourselves to standards of transparency and accountability appropriate to an institution that convenes governments and develops public-interest programmes. Partners can request institutional information from the Centre directly.
