These terms govern your use of theaetc.org. Using this website means accepting them. If you do not accept them, please do not use it.

The Short Version

• This website is the Centre's own account of what it is, what it runs and what it is building.

• Everything on it is information. None of it is an offer, a contract or professional advice.

• Sending an enquiry, including an interest in membership, does not make you a member and does not admit you to a programme.

• You may read, quote and link to what we publish, with attribution. Photographs, logos and whole pages need our permission.

• Ghanaian law applies.

Who Publishes This Website

theaetc.org is published by the Africa Energy Technology Centre, a company limited by guarantee registered in Ghana, at 11 Nmai Street, Adenta SSNIT Flats, Accra. Write to [email protected] about anything on this page.

Using This Website

You may read this website, print from it, and share links to it, for yourself or within your organisation. You need no account, and nothing is charged.

What You Can Rely On

We take care that what is published here is accurate when it is published, and we correct what we find to be wrong.

The Centre's work is institutional and long-running, and these pages describe it as it stands. Where a page gives a stage, a target or a date, it is describing an intention at the time of writing rather than a guarantee: a target is labelled a target, and nothing here claims that a programme is running when it is not. Figures attributed to other bodies are theirs, and are given with their source.

Nothing on this website is an offer, a commitment to admit anyone to a programme, a promise of funding, or legal, financial, technical or investment advice. A decision that matters should not rest on a web page: write to us, and we will tell you where things actually stand.

Enquiries and Expressions of Interest

The form on this website sends the Centre an enquiry. That is all it does. It creates no contract, no membership, no partnership, no place in a programme and no obligation on either side. The Centre reads every enquiry and replies to the address given. Where an enquiry concerns admission to an initiative, a mentorship or a partnership, whatever follows is agreed separately and in writing.

Membership Interest

Membership of the Centre is by agreement. Choosing a membership tier on the form tells us which kind of membership interests you. It does not enrol you, and it involves no payment. Benefits, terms and any fees are agreed with the Centre before anything begins.

The Centre's Material

The text, design, marks and arrangement of this website belong to the Centre, or to those who licensed them to us.

You may quote from what we publish, with attribution to the Africa Energy Technology Centre and, where you can, a link to the page you took it from. Republishing a whole page, or using the Centre's name, logo or marks in your own materials, needs our permission: write to [email protected].

Photographs

The photographs on this website are either the Centre's own record of its work or licensed to the Centre for its use. A licence held by the Centre does not pass to you. Do not copy, reuse or redistribute a photograph from this website, and do not use one to suggest that a person shown in it endorses you or your organisation.

Publications

Reports, briefs and concept notes offered for download are free to read, and free to share whole and unchanged, with attribution. Do not sell them, do not present them as your own, and do not quote from one in a way that changes what it says.

Other Websites, and the Conference

This website links to the Africa Energy Technology Conference at aetconference.com, to the Africa Energy Youth Forum, to the Intra-African Energy Trade & Investment Forum, and to governments, partners and other organisations.

Registration, passes, the programme, speakers and sponsorship for the conference are handled on the conference's own website, under its own terms. The two platform forums have their own websites, their own applications, their own terms and their own timings. Once you follow a link you are on somebody else's website, and we are not responsible for what is on it.

Availability

We keep this website available and current as best we can. We do not promise that it will always be reachable or free of every fault, and we may change, move or withdraw any page.

What You Must Not Do

Do not use this website in a way that harms it, or anyone using it. In particular, do not:

• work around the checks on the form, send enquiries automatically, or flood it;

• collect this website's contents by automated means for another purpose, including training a system on them, without our permission;

• try to reach any part of this website, its database or its storage that is not offered to the public;

• impersonate the Centre, its staff or its partners, or use anything here to send what is unlawful, defamatory or abusive.

Our Responsibility to You

We are responsible for loss we cause by failing to take reasonable care. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, for lost profit or lost opportunity, or for loss caused by relying on this website for a decision it was not written to support. Nothing in these terms limits a responsibility that the law does not allow to be limited.

Privacy

What we do with the information you send us is in the Privacy Notice. What this website stores on your device is in the Cookie Notice.

Complaints

If something here is wrong, or if you are unhappy with how the Centre has dealt with you, write to [email protected]. We would rather hear it and put it right.

Changes to These Terms

When these terms change, the date at the top changes with them. The version on this page when you use the website is the version that applies.

The Law That Applies

These terms, and anything arising from them, are governed by the laws of Ghana, and the courts of Ghana have jurisdiction.
