Sarah Fafa Kpodo

Sarah Fafa Kpodo is a Ghanaian lawyer and Chief State Attorney at the Office of the Attorney-General and Ministry of Justice, Ghana. Her public service career has combined government legal work with a specialist interest in energy, and she serves on the Advisory Board of the Africa Energy Technology Centre (AETC).

Kpodo previously served as Director, Legal at Ghana’s Ministry of Energy (since renamed the Ministry of Energy and Green Transition), the post in which she was listed in 2023 and 2024. In that role she took part in the African Society of International Law (AfSIL) Conference on Africa and the Energy Transition in Lagos in November 2024, as a panellist on a roundtable on policy and regulatory frameworks for the energy transition. By 2026 she was serving as a Chief State Attorney at the Office of the Attorney-General, and in July 2026 she was among the honourees at the 16th African Achievers Awards in London, which recognised contributions to leadership, innovation, governance and social development.

She holds a Master of Science in Major Programme Management from Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, and a Master of Science in energy from Cass Business School (now Bayes Business School) in London.

Kpodo is the founder of the SEED Foundation, which works on the professional development of law students in Ghana. With the Students’ Representative Council of the Ghana School of Law, the foundation organises a Legal Career Fair offering mentorship and guidance on internships and pupillage; the May 2026 edition drew more than 500 participants. The African Law Students’ Association (ALSA) and the SEED Foundation also run the Sarah F. Kpodo International Moot Court Competition, named in her honour and launched in Accra in July 2024. Its participants argue a fictitious international dispute as it might come before the International Court of Justice, and the first edition was held in Accra in October 2024.
